Metronidazole Injection I.P. (5mg/ml) is a nitroimidazole antimicrobial agent used for the treatment of a wide range of anaerobic bacterial and protozoal infections. It works by entering the microbial cells and disrupting their DNA structure and function, ultimately inhibiting replication and leading to cell death. This makes it especially effective in serious infections where oral administration is not possible or where immediate action is required.
